On December 28th, 2024 D.R.C. local time, His Excellency Félix Tshisekedi, President of D.R.C. attended the commencement ceremony of project for the construction of the 280km asphalt road from Mbuji Mayi to Mbanga, undertaken by CJIC. Present at the ceremony also include Hon. Alexis Gisaro, Minister of Infrastructures and Public Works, Hon. Doudou Fwamba Likunde, Minister of Finance, Hon. Kizito Pakabomba, Minister of Mines, Hon. Iron Van Kalombo, Governor of Lomami Province, Hon. Jean-Paul Mbwebwe, Governor of Eastern Kasaï Province, Director of CJIC D.R.C. Branch and the whole project team.

In his speech, President Tshisekedi said that this road is the first phase of the Eastern Corridor Project of the country, which is the traffic artery connecting Eastern Kasaï and Lomami Province, and is also the "connecting line" between East D.R.C. and the Capital Kinshasa. After the completion of the project, the transport of goods between regions will be more convenient and efficient, the logistics cost will be greatly reduced, the commercial vitality of Lomami Province and the surrounding region will be fully stimulated, and the sustainable development of local communities will be injected with a greater momentum, all of which will foster the prosperity of D.R.C.

At the ceremony, the President also personally operated a grader, marking the official ground-breaking and commencement of this project.

Le 28 décembre 2024, heure locale, le Président de la République Démocratique du Congo (RDC), Félix Tshisekedi, a assisté à la cérémonie du démarrage du projet d’aménagement et de bitumage de la Route Nationale numéro 2 (RN2), tronçon Mbuji Mayi – Mbanga (280 km), entrepris par China Jiangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. Étaient présents à la cérémonie Alexis Gisaro, Ministre du Minisère des Infrastructures et des Travaux publics, Doudou Fwamba Likunde, Ministre du Ministère des Finances, Kizito Pakabomba, Ministre du Ministère des Mines, Iron Van Kalombo, Gouverneur de la Province du Lomami, et Jean-Paul Mbwebwe, Gouverneur de la Province du Kasaï-Oriental. Le responsable du bureau de notre entreprise en RDC et l'ensemble du personnel du projet ont également pris part à la cérémonie.

Dans son discours, le Président Tshisekedi a déclaré que le projet représente la première phase du projet de la construction du corridor est de la RDC. Il s'agit d'une artère de transport stratégique reliant la Province du Kasaï-Oriental à la Province du Lomami, et également d'une « axe de connexion » entre l'est de la RDC et sa capitale Kinshasa. Une fois le projet achevé, le transport de marchandises entre les régions sera plus pratique et plus efficace, les coûts logistiques seront considérablement réduits. La vitalité commerciale de la Province du Lomami et des régions avoisinantes sera pleinement stimulée, insufflant une dynamique forte au développement durable des communautés locales et contribuant ainsi à faire avancer la RDC vers la prospérité.

Lors de la cérémonie, le Président Tshisekedi a personnellement opéré la niveleuse, marquant ainsi le démarrage officiel des travaux.
